SUNDAY’S Wilts Angling Open match at Shearwater saw Robin Guy, from Melksham, carry off top prize with 42 lb 12 oz of bream, writes COLIN SCULL.

Robbie Kepner, from Melksham, was runner-up with 36 lb 7 oz of bream, followed by Stuart White, from Chippenham, with 35 lb 6 oz of bream.

Other placings: 4 Matt Skyrme (Trowbridge) 35 lb 2 oz; 5 Mick Withy (Westbury) 31 lb; 6 Dave Bancroft (Trowbridge) 28 lb 6 oz.

THE Bob Warden Memorial match on the Kennet & Avon Canal raised £270 for charity as Tim Ford, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, took top spot with 11 lb 1 oz of roach and perch.

Steve Long, of Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG, took runner-up spot with 9 lb 7 oz of roach and perch, with Les Warden, of M & N Electrical, third with 8 lb 5 oz of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4 Darren Gilman (Maver Bathampton) 7 lb 2 oz; 5 Nathanial Johnson (Melksham) 6 lb 7 oz; 6 Mike Martin (M&N Electrical) 5 lb 14 oz.

SATURDAY’S Airsprung Open match fished on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Tithe Barn went to Mick Withy, from Westbury, with 5 lb 5 oz of roach and perch.

Richard Whitmarsh, from Frome, took runner-up spot with 4 lb 1 oz of roach and Phil Eggleton, from Bradford, took third with 3 lb 11 oz of roach.

Other placings: 4 Alan Hillier (Westbury) 3 lb 4 oz; 5 Dean Adams (Bradford) and Nick Johns (Trowbridge) 3 lb 0 oz.

THE Airsprung match fished on Sunday on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Avoncliffe saw Bill Turner, from Trowbridge, the clear winner with 8 lb of roach and skimmers.

Brian Neal, from Frome, was runner-up with 3 lb 5 oz 8 dm of roach and perch and Tony Scott, from Trowbridge, clinched third prize with 2 lb 13 oz of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4 Steve Green (Trowbridge) 1 lb 11 oz; 5 Richard Whitmarsh (Frome) 8 oz; 6 Dave Morrison (Trowbridge) 7 ox 8 dm.
