Teenage star hurries to match win
TEENAGER Cameron Knee got off to a flyer in the Bathampton AA Junior match
on Withy Pool when he landed an 11lb carp within minutes of the starting
whistle.
Drawn at peg 63, the 14-year-old Bath schoolboy went on to weigh in a total
of 23lb 4oz of carp, all taken on legered boilies, for a fine win. His
efforts brought him a classy reel and trophy.
Missing out by just 9oz on winning the very first match he has fished there,
13-year-old Storm Brand, from Frome, took a catch of four carp, topped by a
10lb 4oz specimen, for a weight of 22lb 11oz, taken alternating with
sweetcorn and red maggots.
Fourteen-year-old Daniel Ball, from Frome, clinched third prize with a bream
catch weighing 10lb 7oz.
Other placings: 4 Tom Mortimore, Oldland, 9lb 5oz; 5 Daniel Scott, Saltford,
6lb 2oz.
