Angling
Bruton’s back in the groove
TERRY Bruton was back to his winning ways with a vengeance when he
slaughtered the field in the Bathampton AA over 55's and disabled match,
fished on Withy Pool at Hunstrete, with a good weight of 98lbs 10ozs.
The Stoke St Michael angler drew permanent peg 50 on the far bank and
proceeded to land carp to 10lbs steadily throughout the match on pole fished
sweetcorn fished close in and out at 14 metres.
Runner-up spot went to Pete Bryer, of Bristol, who continued his good form
with 50lbs exactly from Peg 69. Bryer's pellet baits certainly sorted out
the better fish with his biggest three carp, all mirrors, weighing
17lbs-4ozs; 13lbs-2ozs and 11lbs-8ozs.
Other weights: Pete Phillips (Keynsham), 42lbs; Phil Coolham (Bristol) 34lbs
12ozs; Terry Church (Bristol) 25lbs 6ozs; Mike Nicholls (Bristol) 25lbs
6ozs.
Silvers: Mike Nicholls, 25lbs-6ozs (all roach); John Bradford, 23lbs 6ozs
(skimmers and roach); Colin Golding, 10lbs (skimmers and roach).
