AS the weather warms up, Bathampton AA members are continuing to enjoy first class sport on all three lakes at the Hunstrete complex.
Club member Mark Williams had a great day, taking seven fit carp doubles from the reputedly main lake. His fish included three commons, weighing 18lb 12oz, 14lb 4oz and 10lb, and four mirrors, weighing 18lb 6oz, 15lb, 17lb 2oz and 19lb 15oz, all taken on CS1 boilies.
Des Lambert took one of the biggest carp ever reported from Bridge Pool with a fine specimen mirror weighing 17lb 8oz, taken on boilies.
He also took fish of 15lb, 9lb and 8lb.
And to round off things nicely Withy Pool produced a fine catch of 12 mirrors and two commons for Dean Dowling, with fish ranging from 6lb to 18lb, giving a total weight of 165lb, for an average of 11lb 2oz per fish.
Meanwhile Joe Welling took the biggest ever chub from Bridge Pool with a specimen weighing 4lb while fishing for carp with legered boilies.
THE Wednesday Open match at Landsend Fishery produced fairly even weights with mixed catches.
Martin Lenaghon, of Avon Angling, won with an all-carp catch weighing 88lb, taken alternating with long and short pole-fished hard pellets.
Kevin Molton, of Maver Veals, was second with another carp catch weighing 67lb 12oz, taken on pole-fished pellets. He was followed by Mosella star Tony Rixon who had to settle for third prize with a carp catch weighing 66lb 8oz, taken on pole-fished pellets.
John Bradford, of Avon Angling, took the silver fish award with a mixed bag of tench, bream and skimmers weighing 36lb, taken on short pole fished casters.
Other placings: 4 Tony Whitcombe, Mosella, 62lb 13oz; 5 Pete Sivell, Dynamite Baits, 60lb 12oz; 6 Martin West, Landsend, 54lb 2oz.
