It was an awards double for Ford as he also picked up the Supporters’ Player of the Year prize.

Centre Jonathan Joseph was named Back of the Year, while number eight Leroy Houston took the accolade amongst the forwards.

Winger Matt Banahan was unveiled as the club’s top try scorer after crossing the whitewash 10 times so far this season, while flanker Francois Louw won the Try of the Year award for his effort in the European Champions Cup victory away in Toulouse.

Nick Auterac was the Most Improved Player, Charlie Ewels won the Academy Player of the Year award and the Community Player of the Year prize went to Tom Dunn.

Chippenham RFC’s Nick Tilley won the club’s Spirit of Rugby award.

Bath were not the only ones to hand out their awards, with Joseph picking up two prizes at the Rugby Players’ Association’s presentation ceremony.

He was named Players’ Player of the Year and England Player of the Year at the event.
