BATH have confirmed that Leroy Houston has returned to the club on a short-term deal.

The back-rower left the Rec in the summer to join Queensland Reds, hoping to further his chances of playing for Australia, but after failing to make it into any of the Wallabies’ squads to face England this summer, the 29-year-old has been released to join Bath until the end of October.

David Denton and Taulupe Faletau are currently injured and Houston helps to ease the burden of Bath’s back-row woes.

Director of rugby Todd Blackadder said: “We’re very excited for Leroy to be coming back to the club for a couple of months to give us some cover whilst we have a few injuries, and we’re really thankful to Queensland for helping make this happen.

"He’s a fantastic character and a brilliant player, and because he knows the place so well, we know he’ll settle straight back in and be a real asset for us.”
