TIGHTHEAD prop Shaun Knight has joined Bath Rugby on loan until the end of the season.

Knight, 26, joins from Newport Gwent Dragons, where he made more than 20 appearances in the Pro 12 last season.

Prior to that, he had made nearly 80 appearances for Gloucester, following in his father’s footsteps in pulling on the Cherry and White shirt.

Earlier in his career, Knight was a member of England’s Junior World Cup squad in 2009 and 2010 and experienced playing in the Southern Hemisphere with New Zealand’s Counties Manukau as part of their ITM Cup squad.

Bath first team coach Toby Booth said: “Shaun is a very strong scrummager, and we’re excited to see how he continues to develop now that he’s with us.

"We’ve got some very good props within the squad, and Shaun adds to that strength in depth and competition for places.”

Bath also confirmed the signing of New Zealand back Robbie Fruean earlier today.
