BATH winger Aled Brew has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2017-18 season.

The 30-year-old has brought in a wealth of experience and enthusiasm since joining on a short-term contract in September, scoring his first try in the 38-3 victory against Cardiff Blues last Thursday.

Brew, who has won nine caps for Wales, spent two seasons with French side Biarritz in between three successful spells with Newport Gwent Dragons, where he amassed more than 200 points for the Welsh side.

Brew said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Bath over the last few months and have settled in really well, so I’m really happy to be staying for at least another season and a half.

"I’ve really enjoyed getting a good run of games under my belt – it’s a great squad to be part of and we’re looking forward to pushing on over the coming months."

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder added: "We are delighted to have extended Aled’s contract with the club.

"He has bought so much to the team on and off the field since his arrival and will continue to form an integral part of the squad over the next couple of seasons."
