FULL-BACK Harry Davies will make his competitive first-team debut for Bath tomorrow evening against derby rivals Gloucester in the Anglo-Welsh Cup at The Rec (kick-off 7.45pm).

Davies arrived at the club at the start of the season from Cardiff Blues and will be joined in the back three by Jeff Williams and Aled Brew, who take their places on the wing.

Seven-times capped Australia international Ben Tapuai, who was among the 10 try scorers in Bath's 69-10 triumph against Pau last Saturday, will form a midfield partnership with Jack Wilson.

Like Tapuai, Rhys Priestland produced a moment of brilliance during his time on the field against Pau to cross the whitewash and the fly-half will be looking to stamp his authority on the West Country derby alongside Chris Cook, who comes in at scrum-half.

In a youthful front row with the average age of just over 22, Beno Obano and Shaun Knight will line up either side of 20-year-old hooker Jack Walker as Bath attempt to make it two wins in a row against the Cherry and Whites.

Levi Douglas and Tom Ellis make up the second row combination, with David Sisi and the experienced duo of club captain Guy Mercer and Paul Grant completing the forward pack.

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder said: “I was really pleased with the way the team played last weekend and it was the just reward for all the hard work they’ve been putting in to perfect certain elements of our game.

“Tomorrow’s game will give an opportunity to a number of players to show what they can do in the first team and there is no greater incentive than a home derby against Gloucester.

“The Anglo-Welsh ties against Gloucester and Newcastle will act as a platform for our next Aviva Premiership fixture and it is really important to strengthen the foundations that have been put in place ready for Northampton next month.”
