NORTH WILTS' trio of Jean Collier, Sue Cooke and Alex Jacobs reached the final of the Ladies Over 50s Two Wood triples at the national indoor championships at Nottingham this morning.

In the semi-finals, they came from behind to beat York’s Joan Jackson, Carol Instone and Helen Walker 20-14.

North Wilts were 6-1 down after four ends and 11-6 adrift at nine. However, they fought back to move 12-11 up at 12 ends, go 17-12 up at 15 and finally won the semi-final by six shots.

In the final starting at 5.45pm this evening they will face Huntingdon, who beat White Oak (Swanley, Kent) in the other semi-final 15-8.

On their passage to the final Collier, Cooke and Jacobs eliminated Westlecot 19-8 in the last 16 and Boston 23-9 in the quarter-finals yesterday.
