THIRD Division Lacock produced one of the biggest upsets of recent seasons when they disposed of top flight Somerford with just ten men.

They played the second half a man dowjn after losing Josh Hard through injury at the break.

Goals from Rory Davis and Ryan Ross put Lacock two up before Matt Spear halved the deficit.

A second from Davis and a goal from Ryan Ross made it 4-1. Somerford replied through Dan Frankcom but it wasn’t enough as Lacock claim a deserved victory.

Holders Corsham Centre started their defence with a 4-0 victory over Goatacre with goals from Lewis MaCarron, Adrian Webb, Mark Sharratt and James Lye. Darrin Moss missed a penalty.

Corsham Park beat Westbury Conservative Club 4-1. Kevin Bance, two, Darren Applegate and Mike Blunsdon scored for Corsham, Will Worley replied.

Third division FC Bradford beat second division Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) 3-0 with goals from Steve Bryant, Dan Jordan and Wayne Duggan.

First division Melksham Cosmos beat third division Club 54 7-2 with goals from Alex Shaftoe, two, Jason Hull, three, Phil Carter and Joe Lewis. Jake Sainsbury scored Club 54’s goals.

First division North Star beat third division Trowbridge Wanderers (Sunday) 5-1. Adam Welch, Ollie Moore, Declan Blandford and Mickey Taraskevics scored for Star, Steve Knight replied.

Premier division Prestige Bodyworks beat local rivals Sutton Benger with goals from Craig Fisher and Adam O’Keeffe.

Talbot FC battled back from 4-1 down to 4-3 at home to top flight side Westbury Rangers but couldn’t quite get the equaliser. Nathan Hallett, DJ Wheeler and a Lee Pitcher own goal scored for Westbury. Aaron Clegg, Shane Ward and Stuart Windsor hit back.

Second division White Horse (Sunday) B beat FC Pig & Whistle 7-4 win. Paul Robertson, Jack Hayward, two, George Ingram, Paul Bendell, Matt Crosnier and Nick Bunyard scored for Horse. Rob O’Harrow, three, and Dan Neale hit back.
