FC NORTH Wiltshire picked up what could prove to be a massive three points from their 3-2 victory at home to Old Road FC as both teams are likely to be amongst a clutch of sides facing a battle for survival in Division Two come next April.

James Bamford with two and Scott Austin’s single made certain that Matt Croston’s brace for the Old Road counted for nothing.

Since picking up a point from each of their opening two matches of the season, Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) have gone from strength to strength and their latest victory, a 14-0 success at home to fourth-placed The Mallard, was their seventh win on the bounce and saw them open up an eight-point gap at the top of the standings.

Matt Minnis, with five, top scored, Jon Cole struck three. Kyle Davies and Ashley Bartels claimed two each, a goal each for Kurtis Marsden and Tom North (penalty) made up the 14.
