DEFENDING S.K. Fruits Limited sponsored Chippenham & District Sunday League Premier Division champions The Castle FC hosted AFC Melksham in what was just their third league outing of the campaign.

Although Tom Perkins' side have excelled in cup competitions, their last league match saw them beaten by Somerford and they suffered another blow to their title aspirations as Melksham overturned a 3-1 deficit to claim a thrilling 4-3 win.

Tony McElhone with three and Sean Fordham’s winner cancelled out Tom Slater’s double and Jack Bramwell’s goal.

Westbury Rangers made the worst possible start away to Goatacre CC FC.

Shaun Gardiner’s side found themselves 2-0 down inside five minutes to goals from Rob Murphy, who scored with an audacious lob from 45 yards, and Sam Price before rallying to claim a 2-2 draw.

Drew Adams and Nathan Hallett who scored with seven minutes to go earned Rangers the share of the spoils.

With leaders Corsham CC Wildcats missing out on a game after the weather led to the postponement of their trip to Somerford, a 7-1 victory for Prestige Bodyworks over local rivals FC Constitutional saw them narrow the gap at the top of the table to two points.

Adam O’Keeffe twice, Dan Clements, Alex Pring, Jonny Grogan, Jamie Treweke, Ryan Peck shared the goals. Jordan Beasley rifled home a brilliant consolation for the Cons.
