CORSHAM CC Wildcats picked up a massive three points from what could have been a banana skin to their hopes of winning the Premier Division title.

Frankie Rogers' side hosted an in-form AFC Melksham side who themselves were looking for a win to boost their own hopes of finishing top of the pile.

An inspired Dan King was the difference between the teams as his hat-trick helped the leaders to a 6-3 which saw them open up a five-point lead on Prestige Bodyworks.

Tony McElhone, who has been in fine form of late, scored twice for Melksham with James Dark netting their third, but they were all consolations as Dan King’s hat-trick, Adam Mitchell’s brace and a Tom Lye single fired the Wildcats to victory.

A 7-2 victory for FC Constitutional at home to Goatacre saw them avenge their 2-1 loss from earlier in the month.

After falling behind to a Sam Price goal, Steve Coleman’s doubled reversed things, Josh Mannings, defenders Ciaran Lyon and Ben Hibberd made it 5-1 before Joe Tillyer netted Goatacre’s second.

Paul Mannings' amazing headed goal and Ben Leslie’s shinned effort made up the Cons’ seven.
