WG PARR Trophy favourites Corsham CC Wildcats, along with first division outfit Talbot FC, progressed to the semi-finals of this season’s Ken Clarke-sponsored competition without kicking a ball after respective opponents Bath Road FC and Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) were unable to put together a team for their quarter-final ties.

Goatacre CC FC and Bremhill View will join the Wildcats and fellow Calne-based side Talbot in the last four.

Bremhill needed a last-gasp penalty to see off second division stablemates Miller Sports B, Mark Dolman’s goal earning them a 3-2 win.

Harry Waylen’s effort for Miller was cancelled out by Caner Ozkaya who squared things up for Bremhill before half time.

Steve Allison’s penalty handed the initiative to Bremhill, however with five minutes left a second from Waylen got Miller on level terms and everything looked set for added time before Dolman grabbed the winner from the spot from almost the last kick of the game.

Goatacre CC FC came out on top in their game against near-neighbours North Star FC, the Premier Division outfit overturning a 2-0 deficit before running out 4-2 victors.

Jack Taylor’s double put the Star in charge before Sam Price got Goatacre back in the tie just before half time.

Darren Holcombe leveled matters at two apiece and made it 3-2 before Price scored his second and Goatacre’s fourth of the morning.
