IT WAS crunch time at the top of the Division Two table, where leaders Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) travelled to Beversbrook bidding to become the first team get anything from a meeting with Bremhill View.

It was the first clash of the campaign between the two heavyweights and thanks to a comfortable 5-0 win Bremhill stretched their winning run to 12 matches and are clearly the team to beat.

Mark Dolman and Steve Allison were on target in the first 45 minutes with goals from Billy Gleed, player/manager Ben Redford and Jake Gleed sealing a deserved three points for Redford’s side.

Corsham Centre Youth stretched their winning run to 10 matches thanks to a 6-1 victory at home to Miller Sports B.

Darrin Moss opened the scoring on 20 minutes and Centre dominated but Miller were resolute in defence but fell further behind when Adam Shipman slid home from a very tight angle to give the Centre their second on 30 minutes.

Some good interplay with Lewis McCarron and Moss saw the later score his second and the Centres third on 40 minutes. Harry Waylen scored for Miller to make the half-time score 3-1.

Centre had the greater percentage of the ball in the second half but invariably the final pass was not good enough. Good performances from James Lye and Adam Casserly who marshalled the back four well ensured Miller’s opportunities were very few.

Liam Ralph and Sam Hodsoll with their tireless runs on the right and left flank were causing Miller no end of problems but it was not till the 75th minute that Adrian Webb saw his left footed shot go under the keeper for number four.

Darrin Moss curled in his third and the Centre’s fifth for his second hat-trick in two games. In the last minute a 50-yard run beating three players on the way saw Liam Ralph slide in the Centre's sixth and final goal.

Basement side White Horse (Sunday) B played the whole 90 minutes of their match away at FC North Wiltshire with just nine players so it was no surprise that Chris Webber’s side slumped to an eleventh defeat of the season.

The nine men gave a good account of themselves and trailed 1-0 at the break before running out of steam in the second half and eventually losing 5-1.

Dan Deacon’s first of two goals gave North Wilts their interval lead. Dave Mullins, Scott Austin and a first goal for the club from Nigel Davenport, who lashed home a left-footed beauty, made up the five. Connor Wordley was the Horse’s lone marksman.

A 5-3 victory for Rowdy Cow Rowde at home to Oakhill saw them end a three match losing run. The victory was even sweeter for the Rowdy Cow as they had been beaten 2-1 by Oakhill just a few weeks ago.

Jordan Tarrant’s double, his second of which came from the penalty spot put Oakhill two-up at the break. Robbie Whyte got Rowdy Cow back in the game early in the second half before Robbie Burton netted a third for Oakhill.

Bradley Whitbread’s 25-yard volley closed the gap on Oakhill and his second of the game got the teams back on level terms.

The introduction of Jack Fordham seemed to settle the hosts and they got their noses in front through Jamie Wallen who rifled home a 40-yard thunderbolt to give them a 4-3 lead.

The scoring was completed by Bradley Whitbread with his third and the Rowdy Cow’s fifth of the morning.
