AFTER failing a late pitch inspection at Yatton Road, the match of the day in Division Three between the top two sides Grapes United FC and Stonewood Sundays was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

This left third-placed FC Bradford needing to beat FC Lacock at Poulton to leapfrog Stonewood into second spot and, although not at full strength, Bradford did what was needed of them with a 7-1 win.

Bradford fell behind to a Jordan O’Dywer goal but turned things around to lead 3-1 at the break, Steve Bryant levelling matters, Harry Hamlin putting them 2-1 up before a second for Bryant made it 3-1.

Lacock had the chance to reduce the deficit, but Bradford keeper Morgan Williams saved a Josh Hard penalty that preserved his teams two goal cushion.

Steve Bryant completed his hat-trick for 4-1 and with 20 minutes remaining player-manager Wayne Duggan came off the bench to scored goals five and six before he assisted Harry Hamlin to his second and Bradford’s seventh of the contest.

Buttercross FC who had not won in their previous nine matches ahead of their game with Trowbridge Wanderers (Sunday) brought that unwanted record to an end with a stunning 7-1 success over the visitors to Leafy Lane.

Goals from Scott Nash, Steve Jenkins and Ben Butterfield had given the Butter boys’ a 3-0 half-time lead.

Things got better for Simon McCarthy’s side in the second period as Scott Nash added two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Jamie Lardner got his name on the scoresheet before Nash completed the hosts' scoring with his fourth of the morning. Kieran Ramsey's late goal gave Wanderers their consolation.

Evana Designs hosted Cavalier looking for their first win 11 outings, while the visitors to Christie Miller were bidding to end their own nine-match winless run.

It was the away side who were the happier of the two teams come the final whistle as a 3-0 win gave their first win since they beat London Road 5-0 back in October.

Mike Booth’s goal separated the teams at half time and second goals for Carl Ledbury and Anthony Butler sealed victory.

Westbury Conservative Club saw their six match unbeaten run and proud unblemished home run of five straight wins at Leighton Sports Centre ended by Corsham Park who took the spoils thanks to a 1-0 success.

Jake Marshall scored the only goal of the game in the first half that saw Corsham claim a third win on the bounce.
