A 4-2 SUCCESS for the Old Road FC at The Mallard saw the Chippenham-based side pick up their first win in 11 outings and the three points from the victory means they stay out of the Division Two drop zone on goal difference.

Mallard led through an Andy Adams goal but found themselves trailing 2-1 at the interval, James House scoring both goals for the Old Road.

James Terry got Mallard back on level terms, but a third of the morning from James House saw Old Road reclaim the lead and when Matt Croston netted a fourth for Old Road the points were finally in the bag.

Worton & Cheverell saw their promotion challenge come off the rails for a second week running. After suffering a defeat again high-flying Bremhill View last Sunday, Worton dropped another two points after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Bath Road FC.

Worton made the worse possible start and were 2-0 and a man down inside the opening 15 minutes.

Aaron Gardiner and Tom Sigee scoring for Bath Road and Mark White taking the walk of shame for Worton after picking up two yellow cards, leaving the rest of the team to pick up the pieces and take the fight to a very good opposition on their own pitch.

Just before half time Matt Minnis reduced the deficit after having had a few chances and one disallowed for being offside.

From the restart Worton came out battling and within a minute of kick off Minnis put the ball in the net for a second, this time from 20 yards on the volley - a great goal which spurned on Worton for the remainder of the game.

Bath regained the lead courtesy of Lee Grant only for Kyle Davies to find the net after taking the ball around the keeper to make it 3-3.

FC North Wiltshire and Rowdy Cow Rowde shared six goals and the points in what was a thriller at Leafy Lane, where, despite taking the lead, Rowdy Cow had to come from behind to claim a 3-3 draw.

Bradley Whitbread gave Rowdy Cow the lead which was cancelled out by Scott Austin who out paced the visitors defence to bring the scores level.

Dan Deacon headed North Wilts back in front only for the unfortunate Dave Leask to put through his own goal and tie things up at 2-2.

A second from Deacon this time a simple tap-in gave North Wilts a 3-2 interval lead, but yet again the hosts were unable to hold on for victory as a second-half strike from Rory Collins earned Rowdy Cow a share of the spoils.

Melksham Forest Community Centre picked up a valuable three points in their battle to stay in the division. A 6-0 win at White Horse (Sunday) B ended their six-match losing run but with other results going against them it means they remain in the bottom two by virtue of an inferior goal difference from Old Road FC.

Ben Johnson opened his account for the Foresters with a first half double and a first from the club from Jay Bowers put them 3-0 up at the interval.

Daryl Ward’s penalty, Brentley Roberts and Matt Carroll shared the second-half goals that made up their half dozen.
