FOLLOWING a third straight defeat, FC Lacock have all but ended their interest in the Division Three promotion race.

After recent losses against FC Bradford and Corsham Park, the villagers were beaten 5-3 at home by fellow silverware hopefuls Stonewood Sundays (BFC).

Ryan Ross got his Lacock side on level terms after Andy Flynn had given Stonewood the lead.

Mark Coles struck a second for Stonewood which was cancelled out by Corey Williams. Mike Hopkins and a second for Flynn put Stonewood 4-2 up before Lacock were given hope when Kieron Witchard narrowed the gap to the odd goal.

Any hope of a comeback was ended by Dan Lardner, whose sixth goal of the season sealed Stonewood’s 5-3 triumph.

Buttercross FC twice came from behind to claim a 3-2 success at Cannings Rangers.

Carl Jacobi saw his opener for Cannings cancelled out by the Butter boys’ player-manager Simon McCarthy.

Stewart Beaven’s penalty regained the lead for Cannings. Buttercross won a penalty of their own which was converted by James Flynn to make it two each.

Buttercross eventually took all three points thanks to a first goal for the club from the much travelled Darren Legg who proved that he still knows where the net is.

Cavalier picked up back-to-back 3-0 victories, after beating Evana Designs last weekend they repeated that scoreline with a home win over Trowbridge Wanderers (Sunday). Dan Rance, Mike Booth after an assist from Roger Wiltshire and James Butler shared the goals.

A week after a Jake Marshall goal earned Corsham Park a 1-0 victory over Westbury Conservative Club the two teams squared up again and for a second time it was Corsham who emerged victories.

A 4-2 win earning them complete a quick-fire double of the Cons’ club.

Frankie McEntegart’s goal for the Cons’ club gave them a half time lead which was wiped out by Kadir Ayhan.

A first goal for John Simpkins saw the Cons’ Club reclaim the lead only for last weeks match winner Jake Marshall to bring Corsham level again.

Kevin Bance and Jake Loft’s last minute goal sealed their 4-2 success, however manager Martin Perrett singled out defender Joe Masson for special praise as he had an excellent game from start to finish.

Thomas Bull dedicated his consolation goal for London Road in their 12-1 loss at home to FC Bradford to his late grandfather Terry Gregory who passed away recently.

Bull’s goal was a spectacular effort but the goal on his debut for the basement side was their lone reply as Bradford ran riot on their way to an 11th win of the season.

Harry Hamlin, Damien Moran, Morgan Williams from the penalty spot and a goal from debutant Zack Manna put the Bradfordians 4-0 in front at half time.

Steve Bryant, with two, three more from Harry Hamlin, Jimmy Meade, and a second double in as many weeks from player-manager Wayne Duggan made up the dozen.

As expected third division table-toppers The Grapes United collected maximum points from the derby day meeting with Evana Designs at the Conigre.

Stuart Barber with two, Gary Higdon, Lee Fielding, Nigel Hall all found the net in a first half that saw Nathan Walker fire a penalty against the bar for the Grapes.

James Worsley and Gareth Pulinger with his first goal found the net for the leaders before Jacob Applegate scored a late consolation for Evana.
