PREMIER Division Goatacre CC FC booked their place in the final of this seasons Ken Clark -sponsored WG Parr Trophy after they overcame a two-goal deficit to got the better of near-neighbours Talbot FC at a very wet Combe Lane.

Goatacre, however will have to wait a while to see if it will be Bremhill View or Corsham CC Wildcats they will play in April’s final after their semi-final clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch just down the road at Beversbrook.

Goatacre fell behind to their guests when Nathan West fired the first division outfit ahead and things got better for the underdogs when Stuart Windsor doubled their lead on 30 minutes.

Goatacre may have been down but they weren’t out of it and thanks to a stunning 25-yard half volley from Sam Price they got themselves back in the tie and they managed to restore parity before half time, Jake Haines making it two each.

Rob Murphy was Goatacre’s second-half hero as his goal on the hour mark booked the villagers their spot as Corsham Town’s Southbank ground.
