BEN Redford, manager of Division Two pacesetters Bremhill View, was grateful to a number of his fringe players who stepped in at the last minute and helped his team avoid a potential banana skin at Oakhill FC, who gave the leaders a fright before losing an exciting game 4-2.

Billy Gleed's first-half double seemingly had Bremhill in control at 2-0, but when Clint Couzens reduced the arrears in the second period Bremhill were on the back foot before Kieron Gleed restored their two-goal cushion.

A Robbie Burton penalty set Bremhill’s nerves jangling once more but they were soon settled as Kieron Gleed bagged his second and his team's fourth that saw them extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches.

A 1-1 draw for Bath Road at home to Rowdy Cow Rowde FC saw Tim Knight’s side stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches.

Matthew Lever’s first-half strike for the Rowdy Cow was cancelled out by Lee Grant whose seventh goal of the season earned Bath Road their share of the spoils.

For a second successive weekend Melksham Forest Community Centre played out a 1-1 draw. After a late goal last Sunday earned them a draw with White Horse (Sunday) B.

They were denied a victory themselves with a goal five minutes from time that saw opponents Bath Road rescue a point in their relegation battle with Steve Wakefield’s hosts.

Brentley Roberts brilliantly lobbed the Bath Road keeper from 18 yards out to give the Foresters their first-half lead. This was cancelled out by Matt Croston who netted a deserved equaliser for Andy Roses’ side.

White Horse (Sunday) B saw their hopes of climbing out of the drop zone dented by Miller Sports B who took all three points on offer thanks to the narrowest of 1-0 wins. Russell Decarteret scoring the winner in the first half when he squeezed the ball home directly from a corner.
