WITH Division Two leaders Bremhill View unable to raise a team for the visit of Rowdy Cow Rowde, Corsham Centre Youth took full advantage of their chance to close the gap on the table-toppers, but they had to work hard for their 5-2 win away at White Horse (Sunday) B.

Centre turned up at Leighton Sports ground with only 10 players and one of those was Max Shackleford, who was carrying an injury.

A strong White Horse team saw their chance of victory and a competitive first 30 minutes ensued.

The ever-young Simon Gray lobbed the keeper on 30 minutes to give Centre the lead but it was even-stevens five minutes later when Matt Crosnier squared things up for the hosts.

Centre regained the lead on 43 minutes, a Connor McCarron corner saw Adam Shipman rise highest and head home to make it 2-1 at half-time.

The second half saw the Centre retain the ball and play some flowing football, starting with keeper Sam Thomson via the impressive back three of Adam Casserly, Tom Chandler and man of the match veteran Jason Brook-Stevens.

Simon Gray struck home number three from five yards out in the 60th minute and five minutes later, another McCarron corner saw Josh Bright head home.

White Horse then scored a second through Jordan Gullis but one minute later, the tigerish Adrian Webb won the ball in midfield and set Bright away and he made no mistake lashing home his second and the Centre's fifth.

Miller Sports B claimed bragging rights over local rivals Melksham Forest Community Centre thanks to the narrowest of 1-0 victories.

With both teams down to the bare bones, Miller lost top-scorer Harry Waylen on 10 minutes through injury and although they had to regroup, they conjured up a winner which came from Joe Read in the first half.
