WITH the race to become Division Two champions likely to go to the final week of the season, current leaders Bremhill View and their only challenger for the title, Corsham Centre Youth, both picked up maximum points on Sunday.

For Bremhill View, a 5-0 victory away at Melksham Forest Community Centre helped them maintain their four-point advantage over Centre, who have a game in hand on the current pole-sitters.

A Jake Gleed double and a strike from top goal scorer Kieron Gleed, that took his tally for the season to 33, gave the Calne team a 3-0 half time lead.

Clive McDaid’s second half brace wrapped up win number 15 for Ben Redford’s doublechasing side.

Not for the first time this season, Corsham Centre Youth were let down by a number of players, however Corsham, like their opponents The Mallard, who themselves were down to the bare bones and played the second half with just ten men following an injury to Chris Edwards, were just grateful to get another fixture played.

Simon Gray, making just his third appearance for the Centre this term scored a four timer which included a first half hat-trick.

Josh Bright added the other three as Centre ran out 7-0 winners.

James Whitehead’s final game for FC North Wiltshire proved memorable despite defeat as he played up front against Bath Road, scoring all three of his team's goals as they were beaten 7-3.

Luke Jones’ Bath Road side made a positive start and raced to a 3-0 lead courtesy of a Jonny Ingram double and a James Hernandez effort.

Whitehead then score his first of the game to reduce the arrears prior to half-time.

Richard Hudson and Nathan Edwards extended Bath Road’s lead to 5-2 before Whitehead replied with two more goals to complete his hat-trick.

Tom Sigee scored a further two goals for the visitors.
