HAVING avoided one potential banana skin in their bid to be crowned Division two champions in midweek with a win over Rowdy Cow Rowde, Ben Redford’s Bremhill View evaded another one when they overcame Bath Road FC 7-0 who themselves saw their 13-match unbeaten run come to an end with a 3-0 home loss to Corsham Centre Youth.

Bremhill led 2-0 at the interval through goals from Mark Dolman and Kieron Gleed. Gleed added a further three in the second half that took his tally for the campaign to 39 and level with Worton & Cheverell’s Matt Minnis in the race for the Golden Boot.

Mark Dolman and a first of the season from Jake Brand earned Bremhill the perfect result before what is likely to be a Thursday night title showdown with Corsham Centre Youth.

With White Horse B already relegated from the division, Chris Webber’s side were playing for pride at Old Road FC who knew if they could beat their guests at Stanley Park they would avoid joining their opponents in Division Three next term.

Old Road, who had not won in five going into the game, came up trumps with a 3-1 success. James House goal from the penalty spot gave Old Road the lead which was double by Andy Rose who struck a 30-yard wonder goal to claim his first for the club.

Callum Davis pulled a goal back for White Horse in the second half, before a second of the match for James House wrapped up victory for Old Road which keeps them in the division for another season and sends Melksham Forest Community Centre down.
