DEVIZES-BASED whistler Neil Fautley picked up the top senior referee award for a fourth successive season to surpass the achievements of both Colin Ford (76-79) and Bob Pocock (03-05) who had won the award three years on the spin.

Fautley, 50, who has been officiating for 20-plus years on various leagues, now just does Sunday mornings and needs to win the accolade one more time to emulate five-time winner Pocock.

Fautley, who had plans to hang up his whistle when he reached 50, is a managing director of a flooring company and also held many roles at Devizes Town FC.

Trowbridge-based official Sam Gooding walked away with top Junior Referee award.

Gooding, 37, may have only taken up refereeing two years ago but he has been involved in local football in many capacities over the last 20 years.

He has managed Westbury United in the Toolstation League and helped start White Horse FC in the Trowbridge League after playing for Westbury United Reserves and Westbury Rangers for a number of years.

Along with their trophies, both officials were given a cheque for £50 which was presented by league’s Referees’ Appointment Secretary, Gary Stonham and sponsor Stuart Brown, of S K Fruits Ltd.

Christian Malford provided the Top Club Assistant Referee for the season.

AFC Melksham claimed the Premier Division honour for a second successive season with last term's overall victors Corsham Centre Youth taking the Division Two award.

FC Bradford finished top of the pile in Division Three, but none of them came close to Malford who picked up the overall award.

All the clubs picked up a trophy and £30 for their efforts with Malford claiming an additional £50.
