CORSHAM Centre Youth gave seasoned starting debuts to goalkeeper Nick Gingell, 16 year old Shaun Paradise, Jason King and Kevin Hodgkinson, but it was veteran James Lye who rolled back the years to give them a 3-1 win away at rivals Miller Sports A.

With neither team able to find an opening in the first half the deadlock was broken five minutes after the restart Alex Shaftoe heading in a Joe Murray cross to give Miller the lead.

Centre with the impressive Ben Moore leading, got back on level terms, James Lye was brought down in the area and he picked himself up and duly despatched the resulting spot kick.

On 75 minutes Lye put the Centre in front when he hit the sweetest of free kicks straight into the top corner. The first touch from super sub Simon Gray was to beat his marker and square for Lye to have the easiest of tap into complete a well deserved hat-trick.

Referee Sam Gooding had a excellent game in the middle.

Bremhill View remain top of the table after they claimed a 2-1 home success over an ill-disciplined Rowdy Cow Rowde side, who had Matt Minnis sent off late on after he received a second yellow card, one of a number of Cow players to pick up a caution.

Ryan Jenkins, making his debut for Bremhill, gave his new team the lead with a screamer from 20 yards.

Rowdy Cow were always in with a shout of getting something from the game and when Rory Collins fashioned a second-half equaliser it looked as if they would take a share of the spoils. That was until Rowdy Cow gave away a penalty which Kieron Gleed converted to earn his team their 11th straight win.

A missed penalty for Calne BFC saw them lose out 4-3 in a thrilling contest at Pheasant FC, for whom it was a first outing of the new campaign.

A brilliant individual effort from Rob Pocock gave Pheasant the lead which was doubled by Ryan Kubulius who pounced on a moment of confusion in the Calne defence to make it 2-0 before the break.

Dean Fry reduced the arrears for Calne only for Rob Pocock to regain a to goal lead for Pheasant when he turn in a Justin Flowers free kick.

Stuart Windsor wasted a glorious chance to score a second for Calne as he sent his penalty off target, but not long after Paul Green grabbed a life line for Calne who drew level when they were awarded another penalty, this time Dean Fry made no mistake from the spot to tie they game at 3-3.

With five minutes left, Windsor’s earlier penalty miss was to come back and haunt him as Pheasant took all three points via a fantastic second of the morning from Ryan Kubulius.

A Matt White hat-trick for Bath Road at Somerford FC meant that Trevor Rawlings return to Sunday morning management ended in disappointment.

Rawlings, former manager of Toolstation League side Corsham Town and former league side White Hart, stepped in to save Somerford from folding back in last August and although his new charges led 2-1 at one stage they could hold on to give him the win he longed for.

Matt White’s first of the morning separated the teams at the break. Antony Brown got Somerford level from the penalty spot and when Rob Manning put them 2-1 in front things looked on for a Somerford win.

Bath Road dug deep and a second for White saw parity restored and with both teams going for the victory it was Bath Road who came up trumps as White conjured up a third of the game that completed a deserved treble and left Somerford to rue a few missed chances late in the game.
