FOURTH Division newcomers Calne United and Semington FC kicked off this season’s A M Print & Copy-sponsored Knockout Cup and it will be the latter who enter the draw for the first round proper after disposing of their opponents 3-1 in the day’s only Preliminary round clash.
Chris Dore headed a Dan Rimmer cross into the top corner to give Semington a half-time lead.
Richard Allum made it 2-0 with a 20-yard strike, before Rimmer gave away the penalty that led to Matt Lang reducing the arrears for Calne.
Allum headed home his second from a corner and although Ash Whittaker was denied a fourth when he hit the post, it didn’t matter as Semington had the won at that stage.
