THE only match in Division Two saw FC North Wiltshire host a depleted Lavington Rangers outfit who didn’t have the best preparation for the morning game at Leafy Lane as a car carrying four of their players was involved in a car accident on route to the ground.

Nobody was hurt and, although kick off was delayed by just over 15 minutes, the game went ahead to Lavington’s credit.

On the way to a 4-2 win, it was FC North Wiltshire who started the game brightly and took the lead on 15 minutes when a goal kick from keeper Richard Toghill was allowed to bounce and Scott Austin ran onto the ball and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the net.

Minutes later it was 2-0, Tom Watchman firing home with precision from 35 yards. Several more chances came and went for the hosts who should have been out of sight with Austin and David Mullins in particular unlucky not to find the back of the net.

North Wilts were made to pay for their missed chances when 8 minutes before half time Lavington pulled a goal back through Callum Wylie.

However the two-goal lead was restored moments before half time when left back James Black struck a beautiful direct free kick from the right hand side into the far left corner.

Lavington started to gain a better hold of the match in the second half but midway through it James Bamford relieved the growing pressure on the home team by chesting down a throw in on the edge of the Lavington penalty area.

He took a touch and then on the turn unleashed a great finish into the far corner. Gabriel Gospodinov claimed a second for Lavington, but it was just a consolation.
