DEFEATS for defending champions Corsham CC Wildcats and the much-fancied Pack Horse side means that Potterne CFC are the new leaders of the Premier Division.

A 3-1 win for the villagers at Cons FC takes them top on goal difference from the Wildcats and surprise package Goatacre CC FC.

Dan Hibberd in the Cons goal saved a Ben House penalty, prior to Ben Hibberd putting them in front.

Lee Sanders restored parity for Potterne in the second period and Ashley Huntley put them 2-1 up before Cons had a goal disallowed.

Potterne wrapped up the win when Ben House atoned for his first-half penalty miss to make it 3-1.

AFC Melksham were missing key players either injured or unavailable due to Melksham Town playing a rare Sunday afternoon game.

However Mike Rogers were at their best at they brushed off the challenge of defending champions Corsham CC Wildcats, winning 5-2.

Melksham went one up via a Sean Fordham goal, with Wildcats equalising from the penalty spot, Leigh Rogers squaring things up. Melksham edged back in front, Fordham continuing his fine form in front of goal to make it 2-1.

The second half saw Melksham dominate with only a exceptional performance from Wildcats goalkeeper Joe King keeping the score to single figures with series of top class saves.

Callum Demkiv capped a man of the match performance by scoring from distance, and Partner weaved through a mass of players to score a superb solo goal, Jordan Kirk scored a brilliant 20-yard volley to make it 5-1 before Adam Mitchell scored a second for Wildcats.

Melksham Cosmos got their first point on the board thanks to their 3-3 stalemate at home to White Horse A, who surrendered the lead three times and who like their B side last weekend, somehow surrender what looked to be a certain three points.

Sean O’Brien put White Horse in front, only for Cosmos to square things up prior to half time. Jordan Gullis regained the lead for White Horse in the second period, but once against Cosmos fought back and restored parity through Shaun Heathcote.

With 85 minutes on the clock, Dan Cockeril put Horse ahead for a third time and that really should have sealed victory for the White Horse men, but they couldn’t preserve their lead and Cosmos stole a point when Sean Meer scored his second of the morning to make it 3-3.

A 4-1 defeat for The Pack Horse at home to Goatacre CC FC saw Tyrone Prades' side suffer their first loss of the campaign and moved the winners into third place in the standings which after a defeat to second division Christian Malford in the Knockout Cup just a few weeks ago did seem possible, however three straight victories for Sam Parish side have seen them turn things around.

Goals from Darren Holcombe and Tom Boakes put Goatacre two-up at the break. Boakes scored a second to extend his teams lead, Tom Bentley pulled a gaol back for Pack Horse who finished the game with nine players following Matthew Hooper’s sending-off and the loss of Dan Clements through injury.

However it was just a consolation as a hat-trick goal for Boakes sealed a fine result for the villagers.

Goalkeeper-turned-striker Matthew Tilley was the star of the show for The Castle at Westbury Rangers with the Devizes Town shot stopper scoring a five timer in his team's 7-0 win.

Tilley’s first came on 16 minutes when he turned him marker and drove low and hard across the keeper for his first.

He got his second on 20 minutes after Castle's high pressing won the ball just out side the box and after some crisp short passes Tilley fired a superb strike into the top corner for 2-0.

Shortly after, a fine cross from Ben Jenks found Tilley who beat his marker and nodded home a powerful header.

At this stage Castle were flying and the next goal didn’t take long to arrive, but they wee guilty of missing a few chances before Tilley made it 4-0, Jack Fisher was played through, his shot was parried to Tilley who tapped home his fourth of the morning.

Tilley’s run of goals was broken by Jamie Walters who chipped in from a Nathen Emm through ball. Just before half time Matt Tilley got his fifth of the morning this time picking up a loose ball in the box and poking past the keeper.

The goals may have dried up in the second half but on 65 minutes Jamie Walters made it 7-0 with another chipped effort, this time Ben Jenks provided the pass.

Ten minutes from time Nathan Emm was chopped down in the box, but got back on his feet only to miss the resulting penalty. Matt Tilley had the chance to complete a double hat-trick but fired wide with the goal at his mercy.
