WITH the top three sides from Division Two missing out on a league match it meant that if Melksham-based The Grapes United were to beat local rivals Miller Sports B they would join FC North Wiltshire at the top of the table.

James Worsley’s side duly obliged as they triumphed 6-0.

Tom Robinson opened the scoring for the Grapes, Gary Higdon scored the next two goals and Stuart Barber netted to put them 4-0 up at the break.

Nathan Walker made it 5-0 before Higdon completed his hat-trick with the sixth of the morning.

A 3-2 loss for Corsham Oak at home to Sutton Benger saw the one-time promotion hopefuls slump to a fourth straight defeat.

With Stanley Park unplayable, both teams agreed to switch the game to Leafy Lane and it paid dividends for Benger who thanks to their win move up to third place in the standings.

Benger led at the interval through a Tom Merriman goal.

Kadir Ayhan restored parity for Corsham early in the second half before goals from Chris Casey and Ben Butterfield put Benger 3-1 ahead.

Mike Wilkins scored a second for Corsham with just a few minutes left.
