TOP-FLIGHT sides AFC Melksham & The Castle FC carry the hopes of the league in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup after victories over respective opponents The Windmill and White Horse (Sunday).

Castle travelled to fellow league outfit White Horse who they beat 3-0 having defeated them 10-0 a fortnight ago.

Castle took the lead on 15 minutes, a Richard Macklin long throw was flicked on to Nathan Emm by Mat Tilley and the player/manager with his back to goals scored a superb overhead kick.

On 30 minutes it was 2-0, Emm sending over the corner for Gary Campbell to head home. Castle sealed their win in the 65th minute, Marcus finding the top corner with a fine strike from 20 yards out.

AFC Melksham travelled to Swindon League side The Windmill and the wind as blowing in the right direction for Mike Rogers as they romped to a 19-3 victory.

James Dark and Warren Maidment scored five each, Josh Robinson netted a four timer, Tom Blaxley and Thomas Demkiv struck twice and a rare Lee Ridout goal completed the rout.

Bremhill View suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Salisbury League front runners Rose & Crown. Bremhill conceded two quick fire goals in the first half with the second coming from the penalty spot.

Kieron Gleed pulled a goal back for Bremhill in a second half they dominated, but they were unable to find an equaliser despite their opponents not having a shot at goal in 45 minutes.

The Grapes United held Cup holders Greyhound to a goal less draw for 70 minutes but once the Swindon League side broke the deadlock 19 minutes from time the Grapes heads dropped and two late goals from the 11 time winners took them into the next round.
