CORSHAM Centre Youth had to call on all their expertise to battle past a very determined Rowdy Cow Rowde side and had it not been for debutant Dan King and goalkeeper Nick Gingell they could have suffered their first Division One loss of the season.

But they somehow managed to maintain their 100 per cent record thanks to a 5-1 win flattered the Centre and was scant reward for the effort put in by Rowdy Cow.

King opened his account for the Centre after bringing the ball down and rifling home from 20 yards on 15 minutes. Rowdy Cow applied pressure, Centre keeper Nick Gingell having to be at his best to keep his team ahead.

Increased pressure from Rowdy Cow saw Centre fail to clear a corner and Steven House knocked home to make it 1-1, the game equalled out and at half time the score remained 1-1.

Rowdy Cow were in the ascendency to start the second half but the Centre back four of Liam Ralph, Adam Casserley, Dave Leask and Jason King ably supported by keeper Gingell kept them at bay.

Centre's top scorer Shaun Paradise had a quiet game but was on hand on 60 minutes to deftly chip keeper Wilson to make it 2-1.

Rowdy Cow felt they had a good shout for a penalty on 65 minutes but play was waved on and Centre broke, won a corner and from this Sam Hodsoll slid in to make it 3-1.

Dan King then stole the show as on 75 minutes he rifled in a second from long range and five minutes later with his back to goal he lifted the ball chipped it up and hit it over his shoulder and over keeper Wilson to make the final score 5-1 and securing him a debut hat-trick.

Miller Sports claimed maximum points and bragging rights following their 4-0 win away at Melksham based rivals FC Pig & Whistle.

Will Gale, Paul Walker, Ben Cooper and Brett Cullen shared the goals that saw Mike Stevens' side complete a double over their hosts.

Second-in-the-table Somerford hosted near-neighbours Pheasant FC and in the absence of manager Trevor Rawlings and with Ray Chandler at the helm they overcame a potential banana skin to their promotion hopes as they come from behind to claim a 6-3 win.

Richie Bolter put Pheasant in front and only a goal line clearance denied him a second before Matt Spear equalised for the home team.

Bolter and Brantley Roberts found the net for Pheasant in the second period, but their goals counted for nothing as Spear bagged two more to complete his hat-trick and a goal each for Will Stone, Robbie Burton and Chris Cox sealed the villagers
