WITH Somerford in WG Parr Trophy action, Bremhill View reclaimed second place in the Division One standings after they defeated bottom of the table FC Pig & Whistle 8-1.
Bremhill, who suffered a surprise loss at the hands of Pheasant FC last weekend, were keen to avoid another upset and were 3-0 up at the break courtesy of goals from Kieron Gleed, Alex Lewis and Billy Gleed.
The second half saw Kieron Gleed score a further two goals to complete his hat-trick.
Both Billy Gleed and Alex Lewis found the net again as did Clive McDaid who single made up the eight.
Mark Bridger scored from the penalty spot to give Pig & Whistle their consolation.
With both Miller Sports and Calne BFC posing no threat to the leading sides and safe from the drop the match at The Beeches resulted in the latter avenging their opening day 4-1 loss with a 1-0 win.
Paul Green’s first-half strike earning them the points.
