JUST five days after Christian Malford suffered an underserved 2-1 defeat at the hands of Oakhill FC, the two sides locked horns again last night.

And on this occasion Malford came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw, but once again Malford will feel aggrieved that they didn’t collect maximum points as the bossed a second half where they hit the woodwork three times.

As they did on Sunday it was Malford who took the lead thanks to a brilliant strike from Chris Chrome.

Two Jack Henwood goals turned things around to put Oakhill 2-1 ahead at half time, his first being an awesome 30 yarder and his second a bullet header from a Kieran Tarrant corner.

Malford belied their position at the foot of the table as they fought back in the second period to earn a deserved share of the spoils, Scott Evans scrambling the ball home on 70 minutes to bring the scores level.

Malford then saw Chris Pitman twice rattle the post and Ashley Fletcher strike the bar as they tried to win it for Malford.

Oakhill may not have got the win they wanted but the point gained was good enough for them to claim a share of top spot in Division Two with The Grapes United, whose match with Corsham Oak was postponed.
