WITH Division Three leaders The Dursley Arms missing out on a game due to scheduled opponents 91-92 FC being unable to raise a team for their trip to Lambrok Road, it gave Knockout Cup finalists Semington FC the chance to join Joe Kirkpatrick’s team at the summit.

Nathan Walker’s side somehow blew their opportunity as they were beaten 4-3 away at Evana Designs, a team they had defeated 6-0 just a few weeks ago.

Evana went 2-0 up inside the opening five minutes, top scorer Ant Lamb scoring both to take his tally for the season to 17.

Chris Dore pulled a goal back for Semington early in the second half, however Evana responded well and, thanks to a first goal of the season from Luke Whittard, restored their two-goal advantage.

Semington's response was brilliant as goals from Ed McCormack and Rich Allum saw parity restored at three apiece.

With Semington seemingly in the ascendancy their only ever looked to be one outcome.

However, Evana tore up the formbook and stole maximum points courtesy of a second of the evening from Luke Whittard which earned his side an unexpected 4-3 success.

With Leighton Sports Centre no longer available, local rivals Westbury Conservative Club and White Horse B switched their midweek game to Little Marsh.

Unfortunately, due to a bad injury to the White Horse keeper Tom Lucas who came off worse in an accidental clash with the Con’s Steve Ball, with both players needing to go to hospital, the match was abandoned after 15 minutes with the score at 0-0.
