THE champagne remains on ice for Division Two leaders The Grapes United.
Needing just a draw to secure the title, they succumbed to a late goal as opponents FC Bradford came from behind to claim a 3-2 win, which saw them complete a double over the title-favourites, who they beat 6-2 earlier in the season.
Edwin Escott’s goal for the Grapes gave them a half-time lead.
Steve Bryant restored parity early in the second half and Harry Hamlin netted from the penalty spot to put Bradford 2-1 up.
James Ponsford’s goal five minutes from time looked as if it had earned Grapes the point they wanted, however, with a couple of minutes remaining, Mark Maguire struck Bradford’s winner.
