CHRISTIAN Malford ended a 10-match wait for a victory after a 3-1 victory saw them take maximum points from FC Pig & Whistle.

Malford opened the scoring after seven minutes when Chris Pitman put through Tom Watchman to score the opening goal.

Pig & Whistle started the brightest of the two teams in the second half and after 49 minutes they equalised when Dean Filkins cross from the left was volleyed home by Greg Wilmot.

In the 57th minute Ashley Fletcher met Matt Webb’s cross from the left to score and give Malford a 2-1 lead and Shahram Hemmati added the third.

Cavalier hosted FC St George without star striker Adam Bewley and it proved a big loss as his team suffered a 5-4 loss in his absence.

Cavalier were 1-0 up through a great individual goal from Scott Stroud but St George rallied and they quickly raced into a 3-1 lead before the break with Craig Sheppard scoring a hat-trick.

Cavalier got back in the game with a Leigh Blanchard goal, and minutes later he make it 3-3 scoring from close range.

A cheeky chip from Blanchard saw him complete his hat trick and hand Cavalier a 4-3 lead.

However, Paul Arnold restored parity and then Sheppard, with his fourth of the game, won it for FC St George.

Both Semington FC and FC North Wiltshire kicked off the season with opening days wins, but when the two met this week it was North Wilts who came out on top as they snatched a 5-4 win.

Ryan Day’s goal on 45 seconds gave North Wilts the perfect start but Ricky King got on the end of a Chris Dore cross in the 10th minute to square things up.

North Wilts went 2-1 up just before half time and added a third early in the second half with Titus Eusablo scoring both to make it 3-1.

King tapped in from a Dore knock down to reduce the deficit only for North Wilts to regain a two-goal lead thanks to Martin Wagstaff.

Back came Semington who tied the game at 4-4 with King scoring both to take his tally for the morning to four.

But North Wilts went straight up the other end where Josh Duckett fired home what proved to be the winner.

Trowbridge-based The Dursley Arms stretched their winning run to 22 matches thanks to a 7-2 victory at home to Old Road FC.

Dursley raced to a 4-0 lead before a brace from Bobby Clifford got Old Road back in the game prior to half time.

However, Leon Greenland netted four stunning goals for the winners and a goal each for Alex De Silva, Darren Amador and Joe Kirkpatrick sealed their latest success.
