IT WAS derby day at Christie Miller, Melksham where league newcomers The Foresters Arms kicked off their Division Three campaign by hosting local rivals Forest AFC.

The latter emerged triumphant thanks to a 5-1 win which handed them their victory in eight outings and only their second in 15.

After a goalless first half Lee Fordham’s stunning strike put Forest in front, but Dan Kirk got The Foresters back on level terms before a Brentley Roberts double and a gaol each for Paul Cuthbertson and Callum Grant wrapped up the points for an impressive Forest AFC.

With one victory apiece from their two meetings last term AFC Rowde and Fox & Hounds (Warminster) locked horns at Sands Lane.

However neither could take first blood as Rowde came from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw.

Goals from Alan Hitchcock and Greg Richardson put Fox & Hounds in charge at the break. Troy Hawkes halved the arrears for Rowde and Luke Thomson completed the turnaround to earn the villagers a share of the spoils.

After making a winning start on their return to the league last Sunday, Box Rovers made it two wins on the spin thanks to a 10-2 triumph at Calne United who were undone by the second-half dominance of a Rovers side who only led 4-2 at the break.

George Dolman and Matt Fenn’s penalty for Calne were only consolations as Justin Flowers led the Box onslaught with four of the 10, Adam Taylor bagged himself a hat-trick with Ross Hall, Sean Kingsbury and Scott Fleming shared the others.

Having missed out on a fixture last weekend Warminster Wanderers visited North Star Club for their first match of the season, the hosts, who were beaten 8-1 a week ago, suffered another heavy defeat after they were beaten 6-0.

Dale Rowland, making his debut for Wanderers, struck a five-timer with Alex Bates' single making up the half dozen.
