A 5-0 VICTORY for Semington FC over Old Road FC saw them keep the pressure on Dursley Arms at the summit of Division Two.

The villagers who were the Dursley’s closest challengers last term, look as if they will be the team challenging again for honours this season.

Bobby Mitchell scored the only goal of the first half.

Richard Allum scored a free kick to make it 2-0, Dean Shaw with his first goal for the club took it to 3-0 before Allum bagged his second to make it 4-0 and Chris Dore scored the final goal to seal victory.

Last season saw Dursley Arms annihilate Cavalier on both occasions, but it was a closer affair this time as the hosts won 5-3.

Cavalier made a positive start and led when Leigh Blanchard put Antony Butler through on goal to make it 1-0.

It didn't take Dursley long to equalise and then go on to open up a 3-1 advantage, Leon Greenland, Jordan Pinder and Steve Hulbert sharing the goals.

A period of Cavalier pressure saw Blanchard put a lovely ball in to the box for Ashley Lock to head home on his debut. A second for Greenland gave the hosts a 4-2 interval lead.

The second half saw Dursley take control, but Cavalier never gave up and a dangerous ball into the box saw Leigh Blanchard bundle the ball over the line.

Dan Arnold, Dave Young, Lock and Blanchard all had good chances to score but a mixture of bad luck and good defending saw Dursley hold on and they put the game to bed when Pinder netted his second of the morning.
