CHRISTIAN Malford rued their lack of finishing as Old Road snatched the points with a late second-half goal to record a 1-0 win in their Division Two clash at Stanley Park.

Malford had much the best of the first half with Old Road keeper Kyle McKenna having to save from Malford's Scott Evans in the first minute.

Matt Webb then hit the crossbar for Malford with the keeper beaten.

Old Road gradually got back into the game but made little impact on the Malford back line. Malford spurned other chances but the score remained goalless at half time.

With just 12 minutes to go Matthew Poole beat three defenders before shooting past Malford's keeper Grant Christie to give Old Road the lead and they comfortably saw out the rest of the game to record their first league win of the season.

Cavalier piled more pressure on bottom placed Westbury Conservative Club with a 5-2 win.

Cavalier stormed into a 4-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes, Sam Rogers raced through to slide the ball under the keeper for 1-0, then a Nathan Moffat double and a Scott Stroud volley looked to put the game out of sight.

But Westbury got a second wind and hit back with two goals from Steve Ball that gave them some hope.

Cavalier came out strongly in the second half and didn't take long for Michael Stone to put the ball in the net with a diving bullet header from a corner.

Westbury kept their heads up and kept battling and both sides had great chances to add to the score, Leigh Blanchard, Moffat and Matt Hale all going close without troubling the scoreboard again.

FC Pig & Whistle hosted near-neighbours Semington FC and, after the opening 45 minutes which saw Andy Allen’s side lead 1-0, it looked possible that their first win in 22 outings was on the cards.

But a sterling second-half showing from Semington saw them grind out a 3-1 win.

Dean Moore’s first goal for the Pig derived gave them a half-time lead.

Bobby Mitchell’s started the Semington fight back when he drilled home into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Chris Dore’s header put Semington ahead and a Joe Hargreaves 40-yard wonder strike completed the Semington comeback.

Four goals in each half at home to FC North Wiltshire saw FC St George claim an 8-1 win that saw them take their unbeaten start in all competitions to four games.

Craig Sheppard, Bradley Edwards, Mike Payne and a second for Sheppard gave them a 4-0 half-time lead.

Both Sheppard and Payne went on to complete hat-trick in the second period, with Cameron Simpson’s goal on his debut making up the eight. Titus Eusablo replied for North Wilts.

Leaders The Dursley Arms may have struggled to gain first-half supremacy at home to The Mallard, but not for the first time this season the Trowbridge-based side turned on the style in the second half to run out 7-1 winners.

Joe Kirkpatrick (Dursley) and Dave Lazenby for Mallard were on target in the first half.

Leon Greenland, who is enjoying a brilliant season in front of goal, took his tally to 14 with a brace. Darren Amador, Jordan Pinder and Jake Samuel with two goals on his debut made up the winners' tally.
