DIVISION One leaders Westbury Rangers remain top of the table despite suffering a surprise 4-3 defeat at home to Sutton Benger, who came from 2-1 and 3-2 down to claim their second win of the season.

Goals in the 30th and 42nd minutes from Jon Hogarth and Joe Moloney put Rangers 2-0 up before Ben Butterfield pulled a goal back for Benger on the stroke of half time.

Benger drew level on 54 minutes, Simon McCarthy making it 2-2.

As well as conceding the goal, Rangers lost keeper Marco Viola through injury to be replaced by Paul Ranger.

Jordon Matthews reclaimed the lead for Rangers in the 80th minute, but the leaders were pegged back when McCarthy squared things up with his second of the morning.

Having restored parity on 85 minutes, McCarthy then completed his hat-trick with what proved to be Benger’s winner two minutes later.

Oakhill, who picked up their first point of the season last weekend following a thrilling 4-4 with Calne BFC, went one better on Sunday morning as a 5-3 success over Lavington Rangers gifted them their first maximum pointer, which moved them off the foot of the table.

A Kieren Tarrent double and Tom Webb single gave Oakhill, a 3-0 interval lead.

Jamie Hall pulled a goal back for Lavington, however it wasn’t long before Jake Loft found the net to restore Oakhill’s three-goal lead.

Goals for Aaron Chivers and Lee Martin got Lavington back in the contest only for Tarrent to kill off any hopes of them nicking a point with his third of the morning to seal the 5-3 victory.
