FC NORTH Wiltshire and FC St George had to settle for a point apiece from their exhilarating second division battle at Leafy Lane which ended in a 4-4 stalemate.

James Bamford’s stunning 25-yarder into the top corner gave North Wilts the lead which was doubled when David Biggs scored from the penalty spot.

Craig Sheppard pulled a goal back for St George before Titus Eusablo put North Wilts 3-1 up at the break.

If the first half went the way of the home team, the second half belonged to St George who overturned their two-goal deficit courtesy of a Mike Payne double, the second of which came via the penalty spot.

After getting back on level terms St George stunned their hosts when Paul Arnold put them 4-3 up.

With 10 minutes remaining North Wilts earned themselves a point, the visitors being unable to keep out a Joshua Duckett corner which beat everyone and ended up in the net.

Christian Malford had Mark Brown sent off as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Old Road, whose goals came from Bobby Clifford, Matt Poole and Rory Smith.

Shahram Hemmati got Malford’s consolation.

With FC Pig & Whistle 3-0 up through goals from Andy Latham, Matt Bowden and Dan Waylen and looking set for victory at the Mallard, the red mist descended on Goatacre with 20 minutes left.

Both teams were involved a melee which led to James Terry (Mallard) and Dan Waylen (Pig & Whistle) given their marching orders, which in turn led the referee to abandon the contest.

An under-strength Cavalier side travelled to face Westbury Conservative Club, with three of the squad of 12 carrying injuries and a battling effort saw them claim a share of the spoils from a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Westbury went 1-0 up in the third minute, Steve Ball scored his first of three.

Ashley Lock’s diving header levelled it for Cavalier and Martin Mitchell put them 2-1 ahead, Westbury brought it level again, thanks to a second from Ball.

Cavalier had the chance to go in at the break 3-2 up, but reliable Mitchell missed from the penalty spot.

Cavalier went 3-2 in front through a Leigh Blanchard header taking him to 11 in 11.

Again Westbury came from behind to level for a third time as John Williams found the net.

An Ashley Lock free kick handed the advantage back to Cavalier. Westbury scored their fourth at the death to take a point, Steve Ball completing his hat-trick to make it 4-4.
