WITH Premier Division leaders Bremhill View missing out on a fixture, Corsham Youth missed their opportunity to top the table for Christmas after they were beaten 4-1 at Somerford FC.
A first league goal of the season from Lee Fernandez saw Somerford take the lead and Kent Kauppinen scored from the penalty spot to double the villagers' advantage prior to half-time.
James Lye scored from the penalty spot to reduce the arrears for Corsham, but his goal was just a consolation as goals from Will Stone and a first for the club from Josh Hughes sealed victory for Trevor Rawlings' men.
Defending champions Melksham Town (Sunday) picked up maximum points thanks to a comfortable 8-1 victory over relegation threatened White Horse A.
Jordan Kirk top scored with a hat-trick, Callum Demkiv scored twice and a goal each for Luke Turvey, James Dark and Jack Woolsgrove made up the nine for a Melksham side, who also saw Horse keeper Tom Lucas save an Alex Shaftoe penalty.
Nick Mead’s excellent free kick gave White Horse their consolation.
