A THIRD straight victory for Calne BFC saw them move into second place in the Division One standings.

Chris Edes' side defeated basement side Corsham Oak 2-1, Aaron Masson (Corsham) and Matt Smart (Calne) trading goals in the first half before Jamie-Lloyd Davies' 12th league goal of the season in the second half wrapped up victory for Calne.

Wayne Duggan’s FC Bradford finished 2016 with back-to-back wins that included a 2-1 triumph over FC Lacock.

In the return match it was the villagers who came out on top courtesy of a 6-0 success.

Josh Hard, Josh Bright and Patrick Kapelka shared the first half goals. Two more from Hard after the interval saw him complete a hat-trick, a second from Bright made up the half dozen.

Near-neighbours Sutton Benger and Oakhill locked horns at Stanley Park in what was viewed as a relegation six-pointer and it was Benger who helped their own cause for survival with the narrowest of 1-0 wins.

Tom Bull’s well-taken first-half effort separated the teams.
