AFTER suffering a defeat to Christian Malford last time out, The Mallard gave their hopes of beating the drop from Division Two a massive boost thanks to a 3-2 win at home over an FC North Wiltshire side who had beaten them 7-2 back in November.

Jamie Barry put Mallard on level terms before half time after Josh Duckett had put North Wilts ahead.

The second half saw Lee Craddock put Mallard 2-1 and when James Bamford put through his own net to make it 3-1 the game looked to be over.

Tom Martin pulled a goal back for North Wilts to make things more interesting, however Mallard held on to claim what could be a vital victory.

Christian Malford suffered a 3-1 home loss to Semington FC.

Semington went 1-0 up early on when a Rich Allum cross was deflected in but Ashley Fletcher got Malford back on level terms prior to half time.

A second from Allum, who smashed the ball through a crowd of players, saw Semington regain the lead. Lee Stripe put the game to bed after a lovely one-two with Bobby Mitchell to slot into the bottom corner for 3-1.

The Dursley Arms were in an unforgiving mood at Old Road FC.

Joe Kirkpatrick’s team, who are in the hunt for silverware on three fronts, moved a step closer to the second division title with a 16-0 thumping of their hosts at Stanley Park.

Connor McKay, Jordan Pinder, Kieran Ramsey, Leon Greenland with three and Jake Samuel put them 7-0 ahead at the break.

Three more from Leon Greenland took his tally for the game to six, McKay added a second and Jamie Hughes, Martin Johnson with two, Ryan Baggs and Jake Hiscocks made up the 16.

Playing their first game since they beat Christian Malford back in November to end a 25-match winless run, FC Pig & Whistle picked up another three points thanks to their 5-1 win at fellow relegation battlers Westbury Conservative Club.

Dan Moore scored the opener for the Pig after being set up by his brother Dean.

Owen Hunter got the Cons’ Club back on level terms only for Dan Moore to hand them back the lead with a bullet header.

He then turned provider as he set up Graham Griffiths for 3-1. Pig & Whistle extended their advantage to 4-1 and again it was the Dan and Dean Moore combination that did the damage with Dan netting to complete his hat-trick.

Griffiths made it 5-1 with a well-taken solo effort.
