MELKSHAM-BASED rivals Forest AFC and The Foresters Arms locked horns in their Division Three showdown at Awdry Avenue and it was the former, thanks to a 3-2 success, that completed a double over their hosts, who they had defeated 5-1 way back in September.

In an evenly-matched first half, Foresters took the lead courtesy of Jordan O’Dwyer.

Rob Brown’s penalty got Forest level before half time and, after the break, goals from Matt Carroll and Brentley Roberts put Forest 3-1 ahead.

Although David Williams drilled home a free kick to get Foresters back in the game it wasn’t enough as Lee Fordham’s side held on to claim all three points.

Box Rovers remain in second place after a 7-1 victory at home to Calne United saw them stretch their winning run to 11 matches.

However Adam Taylor’s side still remain three points behind leaders Faded having played two fewer games.

Taylor’s first-half treble and a Justin Flowers effort put Rovers 4-0 to the good. Liam Fulham, Jon Bazley and a second from Flowers made up the seven. Jordan Stewart gave Calne their lone reply.

Needing just four goals to reach the 100 mark for the season, table-toppers Faded FC surpassed that number with a 13-0 victory over bottom of the table AFC Rowde, who played 80 minutes with seven players, having started the game with eight.

Matt Minnis and Dan Jones scored hat-tricks, Rob O’Harrow and Nassem Abouachid added two apiece, Ryan Bailey, Ashley Ellis and Salim Bekkaoui sharing the other three.

North Star Club moved into third place in the standings after their 5-1 triumph at Fox & Hounds (Warminster).

Andy Law’s goal for North Star separated the sides at half time.

A Jake Mansbridge penalty got Fox & Hounds back on level terms before North Star hit four unanswered goals to secure their win.

Joe Childs with two, Aaron Gardiner and a first ever goal for Matt Snudden in adult football wrapped up the points for North Star.
