CHIPPENHAM'S Pheasant FC closed the gap on Division One leaders The Grapes United to just two points after their 2-0 victory at Calne BFC on Thursday evening.
Calne were probably the better team in the opening exchanges, however they fell behind when Richie Bolter outpaced the hosts back four to fire home Pheasant’s opener.
Del Llewellyn was at his best between the posts for Pheasant as a number of brilliant saves in a 10-minute period saw him preserve Pheasant’s slender lead.
After Llewellyn’s goalkeeping heroics, Josh Legg proved his worth in front of goal at the other end when he bagged Pheasant’s second on 35 minutes.
The second half saw Calne throw everything at Pheasant as they looked to get back in the game, but it wasn’t to be as the visitors remained solid at the back to secure a massive three points in the title race.
