A CONTROVERSIAL 3-2 victory for Pheasant FC at FC Lacock saw them replace The Grapes United at the top of Division One.

Josh Hard’s spectacular first-half strike gave Lacock a half-time lead.

Josh Bright doubled the villagers lead when he rifled home early in the second half.

Joe Hylands half-volley reduced Pheasant’s arrears and Richard Hudson got them back on level terms.

Lacock thought they had regained the lead when Kieran Hard smashed the ball home, but it cannoned back into play with the referee saying it wasn’t a goal much to the fury of Lacock, who were then hit with a late sucker punch as Rich Hudson volleyed home a last-minute winner to earn Pheasant maximum points.

Westbury Rangers, who shipped 13 unanswered goals the previous weekend, returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Corsham Oak, with both goals coming in the final five minutes.

Matt Mead broke the deadlock on 85 minutes with an overhead effort and Joe Moloney sealed the victory when he netted the second in the 88th minute.
