OLD Road finally lost their brave battle to beat the drop from Division Two after they were beaten 4-1 at FC St George a week after the teams had fought out a 3-3 draw.
Old Road actually went 1-0 through Stuart Green who, after a comedy of errors, put through his own net.
Craig Sheppard headed St George level from a corner and had it not been for Old Road stand-in keeper Matt McCourtney, Road would have been dead and buried at the break.
St George took control of the season half with Michael McConnell putting them 2-1 up. A second of the morning from Sheppard made it 3-1 and Bradley Edwards completed the scoring for Mike Payne’s side.
