SEMINGTON FC, who reached the final of the AM Print & Copy sponsored Knockout Cup in 2016, kept their hopes of a return to Hardenhuish Park alive with a second-round 7-1 success at first division stable mates Westbury Cons.
After an evenly-matched opening 25 minutes, Semington broke the deadlock when Rich Allum headed home a Sam Malone corner and shortly after Bobby Mitchell ran through the Cons midfield to make it 2-0.
Malone slotted home number three and another from Allum from another Malone corner gave them a 4-0 interval lead.
Mitchell’s lovely left-footed finish made it 5-0 and although Owen Hunter pulled a goal back for the Cons’ it was little more than a consolation as Stuart Barber’s left-footed volley and Dean Shaw found the net.
